ATOM is web based software to manage paramedic overtime shifts, penalties and allowances. The software allows management to manage overtime shifts in an online calendar and paramedics to express interest in specific shifts. As overtime shifts are assigned, the system automatically generates shift confirmations, notices declining other offers, and status changes, by e-mail and SMS.

Once shifts have been worked, paramedics use the system to submit online claims for overtime hours, meal and other penalty allowances, eliminating the involvement of communications centre staff.

The system tracks authorisations and approvals right through to processing by payroll, allowing staff to view the status of claims at any time and reconcile claims with their pay slips.

ATOM is currently being implemented state-wide for Ambulance Tasmania.
