Marketed under the name Volunteer Gateway (Australia), vGate is web-based software that allows emergency service volunteers to sign up for and manage shifts, receive news and announcements, access training schedules, and undertake online learning.
vGate was the winner of the Council of Ambulance Authorities prestigious "STAR Award" in 2009 and winner of an award for Technical Excellence.
vGate is only available to emergency service groups.
"We went from just over 60% of our shifts being covered in March to having only one empty shift out of 90 in April. I can only attribute this turnaround to the implementation of vGate."
Sonya Kok (Coordinator, St Helens Ambulance)
Currently being implemented state-wide for Ambulance Tasmania, vGate is now available for any emergency service organisation in Australia and New Zealand by monthly subscription based on the number of volunteers being managed, or as a complete open source package for in-house deployment allowing a high level of customisation.
The advantages of implementing vGate by monthly subscription include: - every jusristiction and service benefits from enhancements implemented by Island Software in the core software;
- the site is fully-managed by Island Softweare ... no server or software to maintain
- you get your own look-and-feel even though we manage the software
