Island Software is based in Falmouth on the North East Coast of Tasmania and is managed by David Godfrey-Smith.

David has been developing software since 1985, starting with large hotel reservation systems. In 2008, David developed vGate, Ambulance Tasmania's award-winning volunteer management software which continues to be used 24/7 by the state's 500 volunteer ambulance officers and is supported Island Software.

With over 30 years of experience in developing software and managing projects in the government, corporate and non-profit sectors, Island Software looks forward to discussing your needs for complex web-based database applications.

We can develop a customised database to create a highly interactive website, no matter how complicated you think your needs are.

We use PHP and MySQL to create content management systems (CMS) to allow you to easily update information on your website or to dynamically generate web pages that are customised to user needs and interests incorporating any kind of data including text, images, video and sound files.

We can set up simple or gradated access controls so that you can manage who can access your website content or any part of it. You might have pages that are just for customers, or you might want your members to be able to go online and update information, place orders or put themselves on a mailing list. You might want to allow people to upload images or download documents.

You might need to provide an online calculator so that people can work out what they need or what their options are before they contact you. You might want to implement reminders or alerts by SMS for members or customers.

As an adjunct to our commercial web development services, we are happy to work with local community groups who need a hand getting online. We offer a substantially reduced rate for non-profit organisations based in North East Tasmania.

There are lots of online applications on the web for managing community groups and events, and many of them are free. Some will allow you to accept payments by credit card for a small fee if you are selling tickets or accepting donations.

	Petition to reduce speed limit to 40km/hr Falmouth, Tasmania We are helping the local community with an online petition to reduce the speed limit from 50km//hr to 40km/hr.
	Career and Coaching Partners Australia (CACPA) Melbourne, Victoria We helped Career and Coaching Partners Australia get their new website up and running on Wix.
	Jennifer Binns Building Design St Helens, Tasmania We use Revit Architecture to assist with architectural drafting and preparation of documentation for residential projects.
	Long Point Yoga Seymour, Tasmania We helped Long Point Yoga get their new website up and running on Wix (and we also designed their logo!). We are also assisting them to set up EFTPOS so they can accept debit/credit cards online.
	Ambulance Tasmania Hobart, Tasmania We developed and support vGate, Ambulance Tasmania's volunteer roster management system. The software allows the state's 500+ Volunteer Ambulance Officers to manage their roster online from home or work. vGate is written in PHP and MySQL and was originally developed in 2008. It won a Technical Excellence Award and the prestigous STAR Award from the Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA) in 2010.
	Mosaic Association of Australia and New Zealand (MAANZ) Hobart, Tasmania We recently helped MAANZ with their 2017 Conference by setting them to use SignUp to manage the large number of volunteers required to make their conference in Hobart run smoothly.
